Everyday Pant: Ready to Wear

These images are the final documentation of a week-long, performative installation. What remains are a line of underpants suspended at waist height, lacking a body. Each day the twelve-foot long stuffed fabric legs wore a new pair of underpants and held a different stance. The exaggerated length of the gangly legs accentuated the action of the body as it performed mundane actions such as walking, standing, undressing, and sleeping. The placement and rigidity of the paper underpants and the manner in which they clung, held, and squeezed the body reflected the impossibilities of fashion and the impractical demands we expect of our bodies. This emphasized the viewer's awareness of their own body and the struggle to find a balance and acceptance within one's self.
